Welcome to the Parents and Friends Association webpage.

Welcome to the new PFA Team.

My name is Sarah Slade and I am the Chair. Before becoming Chair, I was heavily involved in the PFA as Vice Chair for over 2 years.

The PFA committee have many new faces this year, and we would love to get as many parents as possible involved in running and organising exciting new events for the children.

The funds raised are used to make their time at Swalecliffe as fun as possible whilst providing them with new learning materials and opportunities! If you have any fund-raising ideas, please share them!

By creating and changing events we hope to enhance the children's school life, provide magical experiences and create lasting memories along the way! We are currently supporting the installation of an astroturf track around the perimeter of the school field. This will enable the Daily Mile to take place all year round, the school to open the rear gate and allow access from there at drop off and pick up time (this will in turn ease congestion on Bridgefield Road), and the purchase of 30 balance bikes for Reception children.

We are also helping to fund Science Week, an animatronic dinosaur to visit in Science Week, new metal goal posts, and a Lego Robot.

We are a small team and would love to see new faces and have new ideas.  Please come along and join us and spare as much or as little time as you can.

Every little bit helps!

Thank you, Sarah.

Spending the Money

Thank you to everybody for supporting our events.  With your help we have raised over £5,000 so far this year. With this and money raised last year, we have contributed £10,000 towards the new Maths trail. In the past, for example, we have donated £3,000 to the school to purchase library books for KS2 children, and made a substantial contribution to the Astroturf, which has made such a difference to outside play. We also donate £2,000 each year to provide additional activities to support the children's learning in Years 1 and 5.
