A date for your diaries!! Year R and 1 to follow ...

TODAY (Wednesday) AT 5pm! Year R families- don't forget the children in RS and RCW are invited back to school on Wednesday 8th January for a bedtime story, from 5pm- 6pm. Parents are invited to come into the Infant Hall for a cup of tea/ coffee to chat about reading at Swalecliffe before the children join you for their hot chocolate and biscuit. Dress code for children- pyjamas or comfies! #BedtimeStories

Year 1 have been busy designing and creating Christmas cards in their DT lessons. Some of the Year 1 children went to Lyndhurst Rest Home in Tankerton to deliver the cards to the residents. Fiona the events manager there brought Mo, one of the residents to meet the children and she was then going to deliver to everyone there. They also went to Longfield Court Sheltered Housing in Swalecliffe, where they met a resident who again would pass on the cards. We hope it gave them a little Christmas cheer!

Y2 enjoyed their DT challenge of creating their own healthy wraps. Chopping, slicing, grating and creating! Yum!

NHS Pharmacy First Service. Did you know that the NHS Pharmacy First Service enables children and adults to get convenient access to healthcare advice and treatment where appropriate, for seven common conditions without the potential delay of having to wait for a GP appointment? Accessing the service may mean that we can help children feel better and get back to school as quickly as possible, as well as supporting parents/carers to also get better if they are unwell with one of the conditions covered under the service. There is no need to make an appointment; parents or carers can pop into their local Boots pharmacy with their child and ask for help under the service. Support for the following conditions can be accessed under the service, free of charge (unless NHS prescription charges apply): Common condition Patient eligibility Earache- 1 to 17 years Impetigo- 1 year and over Infected insect bites and stings- 1 year and over Sore throats- 5 years and over Sinusitis- 12 years and over Uncomplicated urinary tract- Women 16 to 64 years Shingles- 18 years and over

Party day tomorrow! Don't forget - children can wear own clothes but need a warm coat and sensible shoes for the playground.

There's a lovely festive feel at school today as the PFA hold their annual Christmas Shopping event. The helpful elves were in bright and early and the wrapping stations set up ready to go! Thank you to all our super volunteers!!
