This after school club is going down a storm. Each week Creepy Claws brings a different species of animal, from a collection of over 300. The children get to interact with the animals and learn all about them. I'm glad I missed last weeks club with the bird eating spider...............

Seaside photography Yr 5
Swalecliffe School, along with other local schools belonging to the Coastal Alliance, are working with Turner Contemporary on a project called ‘Seaside photographed’ which aims for pupils to reflect on their experiences of growing up and living by the sea. Some Year 5 pupils were taken to the beach in order to capture their surroundings through photography. Some of the images taken across all schools will then be exhibited in a Coastal Alliance exhibition at Turner Contemporary’s Clore Gallery from the 24th May – 23rd June 2019. More to follow about this in due course.
Easter Art competion winners. Well done to all children that entered and it was interesting to see what Easter meant to you all. Have a very happy Easter break.

"2019 Spelling Bee.2nd place after Herne. Isla won year 6 and Christopher won year 5. They were very gracious in their defeat to Herne.
Some of our year 6 pupils took part in a photography trip to Whitstable beach with a brief to observe 'lines' within the local environment. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the end results reflect a mature observation of their surroundings. If you would like to see these first hand you can visit the Beach Creative in Herne Bay between 29th March and 7th April where their work is being exhibited.
