I have now been a Governor at Swalecliffe Community Primary School for several years, and I have a child in year 5 who attends the school. For the past five years I have been volunteering part-time at the school, spending time reading with a number of pupils and participating on outings.
My career path has been communication skill based, working in both the world of entertainment as an agent, and for a number of years specialising in the communication field of writing and facilitating training material for London teaching hospitals via forum theatre.
Since my return to Kent I have worked as a writer and facilitator of relationship and self esteem training, and also as a life coach.
As a governor I see myself as part of a wider leadership team that has a duty to foster positive relationships between governors and school leaders, based on trust, openness and transparency.
