Following a degree in Psychology, I worked at an advertising agency in London running market research projects. Seeking to 'make a difference' led to teacher training with a specialism in Early Years. In my 20 year teaching career I have run a pre-school and worked in a variety of schools teaching children from Reception to Year 6, as well as taking time out for my own 3 children.
I am passionate about supporting children and families within our school community and totally committed to meeting the needs of the whole child through our child first, pupil second philosophy. Working together we can raise happy, resilient children who are able to take advantage of all that our school has to offer and fulfil their potential.
As the Family Learning Teacher I am part of the Wellbeing Team, specialising in practical support and therapeutic work. In addition, I run courses for parents with children in our Foundation Stage sharing how we teach literacy and maths. I also work in partnership with the Children's Centre running the Solihull approach course 'Understanding your child'.
As the staff governor, I look forward to working as part of the team supporting the strategic direction of our school.
